In the southern part of the world AIDS and its severe social consequences are worsening the already poor living conditions of millions of children. In sub–saharan Africa there are over 12 million infants and children who have lost either one or both parents as a result of the pandemic, a figure which is bound to increase during the next few years. We want to be by their side.
Arché's main target in the countries in which it operates is to educate orphans, as education is an important factor of development, giving people the possibilities they need to help themselves out of poverty and to achieve self-fulfilment. We also promote guidelines for AIDS prevention in schools, as well as training for workers in both the educational and social sectors. Our projects are always implemented in conjunction with the local communities, and take into account the different cultural identities of the project beneficiaries.
